Sue Champion

IBSI Prep Teacher

Sue Champion began her dance training with local teachers, then went on to become a dance major at Western Michigan University where she was a soloist in their performance company. She later trained in the Professional Program of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, learning much of their classical and contemporary ballets. This was followed by two years with the Pennsylvania Ballet. Throughout her teaching career, she developed a deep need to lead and train her students to grow a heart of worship through dance.

Ms. Champion is the founder and original artistic director of Kentucky Repertory Dance Theatre. KRDT performed twice as dancing missionaries in Moscow, Russia. This eventually lead her and her husband to become missionaries in Moscow, where they spent twelve years. During this time, she started a dance ministry there as well as a theatre arts program.
Ms. Champion has now returned to KRDT and has joined the IBSI faculty. She is welcomed as a gifted minister, choreographer, and teacher bringing enriched abilities and passion to her classes.
